I made this Victoian Bustle Dress in beautiful ivory satin in 2005.  I have used my own wedding head dress and veil and made a small nosegay as a bouquet.  My groom is wearing the uniform of the Royal Horse Artillery which I painstakingly made in 2004. The hand stitching for the frogging took forever but was worth it!

The dress is drapped over a steel hoop boned bustle .

Notice the corset line when sitting down. May have needed to be a bit tighter but it certainly keeps my back straight! A corset is an essential part of any historical costume to get the right "shape" and smooth the lines of the dresses.

This dress was on display at Highwick Historical House in Auckland, New Zealand.  It looked really good in the old world it represented.

The back of the dress had a cascade of lace over the bustle and a matching belt done up at the back smartened the front of the bodice
