Welcome to my Historical Costumes:
My name is Tracey and I have been making historical costumes just for fun for a few years now. I love the first Victorian Bustle era so most of my dresses are from that 1870's time. I became interested in historical costuming when I started doing my family tree. I was curious to see what it would have been like to wear the clothes my ancestors may have worn. Tudor times are the furthest I have taken my family tree back to so my costumes start from the Elizabethan times.
My husband Lee and daughter Katherine also have their own costumes. Lee is wearing a Royal Horse Guards Uniform and Katherine keeps to the bustle era and has an 1850's pioneer dress.
Katherine and I volunteer at the Howick Historical Village in Auckland, New Zealand and go there once a month dressed up as Irish Immigrants. The wife and daughter of a New Zealand Fencible soldier, a retired soldier who came to NZ with his family to provide security services from the late 1840's onwards.
Please take a look at my photos and enjoy. If I can inspire just one person I would feel very privileged.
